Razie on target as Speedy Tigers make winning start in Belgium

PETALING JAYA: The Malaysia hockey team started off their Tour of Belgium in a positive mode when they defeated Belgium A 1-0 in their first match at the Sportcentrum Wilrijkse Plein arena in Antwerp yesterday.

Razie Abdul Rahim hit home the solitary goal through a 35th-minute penalty corner to give Malaysia a fine start at the tour that includes four matches.

National coach A. Arulselvraj said that it has been a good start and the Speedy Tigers must be prepared to play the Belgium senior team today.

“Our preparation against their (Belgium) first team starts now. Every aspect of the preparation - including their food, water, rest and others will be important. They need good recovery for the match tomorrow (today),” said Arulselvaraj.

After the two matches, Malaysia will move to Waterloo where they will face France twice on Oct 4 and 5.
