Superb Sharul vaults to two finals in Glasgow

PETALING JAYA: National artistic gymnast Sharul Aimy has booked his place in two finals at the Commonwealth Games after an impressive qualification round in Glasgow on Friday (July 24).

Sharul finished fifth out of 43 gymnasts in the men’s floor exercise with a score of 13.250 to qualify for the top-eight final at the Arena.

He also qualified for the vault final, placing fourth out of 14 competitors with an average score of 13.725 from his two vault attempts (13.750 and 13.700).

He did not make the cut in the pommel horse after finishing 19th out of 45 gymnasts with a score of 12.100.

The floor exercise final is on Monday (July 27) and followed by vault on Tuesday (July 28).
