PETALING JAYA: Aspiring junior golfers now have a new pathway to showcase their talent.
In collaboration with the Malaysian Golf Association (MGA), 100Plus has officially launched the National Junior Development Programme (NJDP) Junior Series, a nationwide event aimed at nurturing the country’s next generation of golfing talents.
The series will comprise three qualifying rounds followed by a Grand Final.
MGA president Tan Sri Anwar Mohd Nor hailed the initiative as a significant step for junior golf in Malaysia.
"The junior series will emerge as one of the most significant competitive platforms for junior golfers nationwide," said Anwar.
The programme was launched at The Mines Resort and Golf Club on Wednesday, with organising chairman Mohd Fauzi Mesran also in attendance.
Players aged under 18 are encouraged to participate, with the series also serving as the qualifying platform for the Malaysian Junior Open, where a total of 30 spots are up for grabs.
The nationwide circuit begins at Kinrara Golf Club in Selangor from July 20-23, before moving to Permaipura Golf and Country Club in Kedah (Aug 10-13), A’Famosa Golf Resort in Malacca (Sept 7-10), and concluding with the Final at The Mines Resort and Golf Club in Selangor (Oct 6-9).
