KUALA Lumpur Golf & Country Club hosts Vietnam Golf Coast clubs who brought their message directly to Malaysian golfers, showcasing a suite of all inclusive golf and resort packages designed to position the Vietnamese region as one of Asia’s most compelling short haul destinations.
The roadshow tapped into one of Malaysia’s most active golfing communities, as it underscored the region’s growing confidence as it competes with established golf hubs across Asia-Pacific.
Central Vietnam has long been recognised for its favourable climate, dramatic sea-mountain-forest landscapes, and a tourism ecosystem anchored by luxury hotels, integrated resorts and strong accessibility.
But its biggest draw remains its cluster of world-class golf courses, allowing travellers to play multiple championship layouts within a single trip – a convenience few regional destinations can match.
With direct flights, stable pricing and a reputation for safe, seamless travel, the region continues to gain traction among Malaysian golfers seeking elite weekend length escapes.
Representatives noted a rising demand for golf holidays paired with broader leisure experiences, and average stays now stretching to around four days.
Alice Le, club manager of Montgomerie Links, said the region’s momentum is unmistakable, and is gaining pace.
“We clearly see positive growth in tourism products here, both in quantity and quality. In the golf sector alone, golfers have eight nearby courses to choose from during a single visit.
“The courses have been thoughtfully developed alongside established hotels and resorts, creating a destination that delivers a signature collection of golf experiences unlike anywhere else in Vietnam,” she said.
The clubs, managed and aligned under the Vietnam Golf Coast initiative, continue to collaborate in key international markets.
Malaysia, with its proximity, direct connectivity, large golfing population and similar expectations around service standards, has been identified as a priority.
The KLGCC event also introduced flexible, value driven packages, including exclusive rates for attendees and attractive pricing structures for travel agents across a five-month booking window.
According to Nancy Dang, assistant director of sales and marketing at Ba Na Hills Golf Club, the relaxed setting encouraged open discussion.
“Guests heard first-hand testimonials from Malaysians who ha ve played in Da Nang, providing honest and authentic perspectives. It naturally helped inspire interest in the destination,” said Dang
The attendees at the Kuala Lumpur showcase included travel agents, media and local golfers.
“And several expressed interest in sharing all inclusive packages with Malaysian travellers, recognising Central Vietnam’s ability to blend golf, relaxation and cultural discovery,” said Maggie Hien Ton, assistant sales manager at Laguna Lang Co, the Nick Faldo-designed tract.
Insights gathered from the Malaysian market will help refine future offerings, she said, and added they felt confident the event would strengthen Danang’s position as a leading golf destination for Malaysian travellers.
The Vietnam Golf Coast is a collaborative initiative representing Central Vietnam’s leading golf clubs and tourism partners, promoting the region’s championship courses, luxury hospitality, cultural attractions and convenient accessibility.
