THE Malaysian Golf Association (MGA) introduced golf to Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Taman Desa with the launching of their Community Golf Programme.
In a statement, the national association said “a total of 100 students from Standard 4 and 5 participated in the programme, which aimed to introduce golf as part of co-curricular activities in the school.
“Although initially planned for more participants, Standard 6 students were unable to participate due to examinations.”
The MGA added that the “programme was officially launched by Tan Sri Mohd Anwar Mohd Nor, president of the association, in a ceremony that saw enthusiastic support from teachers, students and invited guests.
“Four instructors conducted the lessons on the basics of golf: national team player Nur Batrisyia Ghani, and community golf instructors Muhammad Alir Fisthoaniq Eusof, Cikgu Adib and Shairul Erwin, also national tutor of the programme.”
The statement said these instructors “guided the students through fun and engaging sessions designed to build early interest and foundational golf skills”.
