Flashback: At the prize presentation of the Selangor Masters, co-sanctioned by PGM, are Selangor Chief Minister Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari (third left) and other officials with champion Tawit Polthai (centre), leading amateur Hariz Hezri (far left) and top-placed Malaysian pro Shahriffuddin Ariffin (far right).

THIS was a week of mixed goings-on, and in a large part, one that was greeted with optimism and hopefulness.

The news that the Professional Golf of Malaysia (PGM) is preparing to make an announcement on a schedule for events this year came as welcome relief, albeit tempered with a bit of caution and pragmatism.
