Syazwan tops Cobra Puma event

The full-field prior to the teeoff of the Cobra Puma Tournament at Templer Park in Rawang.

THE Cobra Puma Tournament at the Templer Park Country Club proved a huge success, with 120 golfers in the field.

The event, hosted by MST Golf, the local distributors of the equipment and apparel, served as an opportunity for golfers to come together and share their passion for the sport and engage with the brand’s campaign of “Go Chase More”.

The tournament “attracted a vibrant mix of MST’s ilovegolf members, Cobra Puma ambassadors and influencers”, the organisers said in a statement.

“The event embodied Cobra Puma’s vision of making golf accessible, fun and stylish for everyone regardless of their skill level or experience,” the statement added.

Syazwan Kamalui Azam won himself a Cobra DarkSpeed iron set worth RM4,599 after finishing at the top of the leaderboard with 40 points.

In second place was Jung Yongguk, who was rewarded with a Cobra DarkSpeed driver, while third-place Abdul Muhayum Abdullah went home with a Cobra Putter.

Speaking after receiving his prize, Syazwan said: “I’ve participated in many Cobra Puma tournaments and they just never disappoint us.

“This year’s tournament was challenging, and the scenic Templer Park course made the experience all the better.”

Alex Yau claimed a Cobra Darkspeed hybrid for the Longest Drive competition, having driven the ball 265 metres.

Marzuki Jaafar and Koay Kai Beng won Puma duffle bags in the nearest-to-line contest, while Mohd Lizahm Majin won a Cobra UL Pro stand bag in the nearest-to-pin contest.

Lucky draw prizes worth more than RM10,000 were also on offer. And Mohd Adnan Mohamed Yusoff won the grand lucky draw – a Limited Edition 2024 Cobra Alligator Tour stand bag worth RM5,699.

Two other big-lucky winners went home with a Cobra Darkspeed LS Limited Edition Season Opener driver worth RM3,499 and a SnakeBite wedge worth RM899.

“I would like to thank the entire team that made this event possible. It was wonderful to see new faces, and it was clear that those who joined are Puma fans, dressed head to toe in Puma gear,” Cobra Puma Golf Team head Rick Chong said in the statement.

MST Golf Group Berhad’s executive chairman, KP Low, was also at the tournament and joined the golfers on the course.
