PETALING JAYA: Datuk Ab Ghani Hassan has been elected as the president of the Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) for the remainder of the 2025-2029 term.
Ghani was elected to the helm of the governing body after he beat contender and Selangor FA (FAS) deputy president Datuk Seri Shahril Mokhtar during the Second Extraordinary Congress at Hilton Petaling Jaya on Thursday (Sept 17).
Ghani, who is also the Malaysian Football League (MFL) president, won by 15 votes as he received 20 votes while Shahril had five.
Meanwhile, the first vice president position was won by Datuk Seri Rosmadi Ismail, while Datuk Saaran Nadarajah will fill the second vice president role.
