PETALING JAYA: Bergson Da Silva and Brad Tapp have been cleared by FIFA to represent Malaysia, paving the way for the Johor Darul Ta'zim (JDT) duo to don the Harimau Malaya colours in the upcoming international window.
The Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) confirmed that world football’s governing body had completed their review of the pair’s eligibility and given them the green light under their rules and provisions.
However, the fate of two other JDT players – Manuel Hidalgo and Shane Lowry – remains unresolved, with FIFA still verifying their eligibility.
FAM said they are awaiting an official decision on both players and will continue to cooperate fully with FIFA by submitting all necessary information and documents required for the review.
Further updates on Hidalgo and Lowry will be issued once FAM receive official confirmation from FIFA.
Malaysia are set to compete in the FIFA Asean Cup from Sept 24-Oct 5.
