Izhan stable after concussion scare

PETALING JAYA: Selangor goalkeeper Izhan Nazrel Sikh Azman is in stable condition but will undergo further monitoring and follow-up treatment after a concussion scare in the match against Terengganu on Friday (Aug 28)

Izhan was stretchered off and rushed to Hospital Sultan Zainal Abidin (HoSZA) after a head-on collision with Terengganu striker Romel Morales in the 71st minute of the match at the Sultan Mizan Stadium in Gong Badak.

He was then replaced by reserve goalkeeper Azim Al-Amin.

In a statement, Selangor thanked the medical team for their prompt response.

"The club would like to express our sincere appreciation and gratitude to the match medical officials, as well as the Emergency and Trauma Department medical team from Hospital Sultan Zainal Abidin, for their prompt response and emergency assistance.

“We wish Izhan a smooth and full recovery," the club said.

The 24-year-old’s injury overshadowed what was otherwise a strong night for Selangor, who beat Terengganu 3-0 to claim their second win in Super League.

Dutch striker Kay Tejan opened the scoring in the 59th minute, before Brazilian forward Chrigor Moraes added a second-half brace.
