Faisal and Moraes fire braces as Selangor down Kelantan


PETALING JAYA: Selangor are off to a strong start in the Super League after beating Kelantan 4-1 at the Sultan Mohd IV Stadium in Kota Baru on Saturday (Aug 22).

Captain and winger Faisal Halim was the hero as he scored two goals in the 27th and 49th minutes.

He tucked the ball under his jersey to celebrate in a gesture to reveal that his wife Nur Syazwani Mizuana is pregnant.

Brazilian striker Chrigor Moraes also got a double when he scored the opener in the 18th minute and the fourth in the 75th.

Kelantan got their consolation through Nigerian midfielder Philip Dandada Musa in the 60th minute.

In the other game at Gong Badak, Terengganu got off to a good start when they beat Melaka 3-0 at the Sultan Mizan Stadium.

Curacao striker Gervane Kastaneer broke the deadlock in the 12th minute and then got his second in the 80th, while Spanish midfielder Victor Ruiz got the second for his team in the 45th minute.
