KUALA LUMPUR: The Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) expressed their deepest appreciation to Harimau Malaya fans who flooded the Kuala Lumpur Football Stadium, Cheras to give their strong support to the national squad in the Hyundai AFF Cup match against Laos on Tuesday night.
According to FAM, the presence of thousands of fans who filled the stadium and gave non-stop cheers throughout the match was a morale booster and fuel for the players to perform their best for the country.
Yesterday, Harimau Malaya managed to record their second consecutive victory after beating Laos 4-0 yesterday.
The success saw Malaysia now proudly at the top of Group B with six points.
“FAM appreciate the commitment of all the supporters who always stand firmly behind Harimau Malaya.
“The extraordinary support from the fans has always been the main strength for the national squad in every match,” the statement said.
In the same vein, FAM hoped that the strong support would continue in the next match against the Philippines at the same venue on Aug 8.
“Let us all come together to fill the Kuala Lumpur Football Stadium again to give Harimau Malaya a boost in their efforts to continue their challenge in the Asean Cup. Let us continue to unite, fill the stadium and become the 12th player for Harimau Malaya.” — Bernama
