The 26-year-old defender joins the Red Giants alongside fellow new arrivals A. Selvan from Negri Sembilan, former Kelantan midfielder Nor Azam Azih and Penang defender Adib Abd Raop.

Primarily a left-back, Tabinas is also capable of playing at centre-back and wing-back.

Born in Tokyo, Tabinas began his professional career with Kawasaki Frontale, where he was part of the squad that won back-to-back J1 League titles in 2017 and 2018.

He later featured for Gamba Osaka and Mito HollyHock before joining Thailand’s Buriram United, where he won two Thai League 1 titles, the Thai FA Cup, Thai League Cup and Asean Club Championship.

Head coach Kim Pan-gon believes Tabinas’ experience in Japan and Thailand will be a major asset.

“Tabinas has proven himself in two of Asia’s most competitive leagues. He understands what it takes to compete at the highest level and possesses the mentality of a player who is driven to win,” said Pan-gon.

Tabinas said Selangor’s ambition and vision for the future convinced him to make the move.

“I took the time to understand the club, their culture, supporters and vision for the future, and what I found was truly impressive.

“Selangor have a proud history, passionate fans and clear ambitions to keep growing. Those were some of the biggest reasons why I chose to join the Red Giants.”

“I come here not only with experience, but also with the desire to keep improving as a player.”
