He takes over temporarily from Peter Cklamovski, with FAM citing his experience, proven track record and deep understanding of the local football landscape.

"FAM are confident that his experience, expertise and knowledge of local football will be a valuable asset in strengthening the Harimau Malaya squad," the association said in a statement.

FAM also expressed hope that Cheng Hoe’s appointment would provide a fresh boost to the national team as they seek to improve their performances on the Asian and international stages.
