Selangor reach Shopee Cup final after beating Nam Dinh 2-0

PETALING JAYA: Selangor have secured their spot in the final of the Asean Club Championship Shopee Cup after beating Vietnamese side Nam Dinh 2-0 in the semi-final second-leg match on Wednesday (May 13).

Selangor won the semi-final 4-1 on aggregate.

Forward Chrigor Moraes was the hero again after scoring both goals at Thien Truong Stadium in Ninh Binh.

Chrigor, who scored both goals for the Red Giants in the first leg, put Selangor ahead from the penalty spot in the 40th minute.

Selangor were awarded the penalty in the first half after Jordanian Mohammad Abualnadi was brought down in the box.

The Brazilian, who came into the match with 40 goals across all competitions this season, made it 42 after doubling Selangor’s lead in the 90th minute to seal their place in the final.

Selangor will face either Johor Darul Ta’zim or Thailand’s Buriram United in the final.
