Juan Torres Garrido appointed new Sabah head coach

PETALING JAYA: Sabah have appointed former Malaysia Under-23 coach Juan Torres Garrido as their new head coach.

The news was announced by team manager Mohd Arziz Afizy on Wednesday (Feb 25).

According to Arziz, Juan takes over from Alto Linus, who previously served as the interim coach following the resignation of Australian Jean-Paul de Marigny last December.

Alto will return as the assistant coach.

"Juan Torres will begin his official duties in the match against Negri Sembilan at Likas Stadium this Saturday (Feb 28)," he said.

Arziz stated that Juan Torres' experience managing the national U-23 squad and his knowledge of the Malaysian League were among the primary factors behind his selection.
