PETALING JAYA: The Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) have denied rumours circulating widely that all members of their executive committee have tendered their resignations.

Acting president Datuk Yusoff Mahadi said in a statement that all FAM exco members remain fully committed to carrying out their duties in a transparent, professional and integrity driven manner in the best interests of Malaysian football.

“FAM wish to clarify that there has been no mass resignation or dissolution of the FAM executive committee as alleged," said Yusoff.

"For the record, the appointment and election of all FAM executive committee members were carried out through legitimate and constitutional channels, following a voting process at the FAM Congress.

"It was in accordance with the FAM statutes and the guidelines set by the international governing body of football.

“FAM reiterate that the current leadership structure continues to carry out the responsibilities and trust entrusted to them with full commitment to ensure the continuity of governance and the development of football in the country," said Yusoff.

Prior to the emergence of the rumours, there had been calls for FAM’s top management to take responsibility following FIFA’s claim of document falsification involving seven heritage players.
