Selangor earn their first point

PETALING JAYA: Selangor finally earned their first point on the Asian Champions League Two stage when a late goal from Chrigor Moraes helped the Red Giants to hold Thai club Bangkok United to a 1-1 draw at the Pathum Thani Stadium on Wednesday (Nov 26).

The Red Giants, who have missed out on a ticket to the knockout round, started without captain Faisal Halim, who is down with a knee injury.

Christophe Gamel's squad conceded a goal in the 51st minute after Rungrath Phumichantuk's scored off a rebound from the post.

It was Moraes who turned saviour for the Red Giants when he fired in Aliff Izwan Yuslan's cross in injury time.

Selangor, who had lost all four previous matches, remained at the bottom of Group G with only one point and will complete their fixture against Singapore's Lion City Sailors at the Petaling Jaya City Council Stadium on Dec 10.
