JDT crush Brunei 10-0 in record Super League win

PETALING JAYA: Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT) proved once again that they are in a class of their own after thrashing Brunei 10-0 in their Super League clash at the Sultan Ibrahim Stadium on Saturday (Oct 25).

Striker Bergson Da Silva was unstoppable, netting a hat-trick within 37 minutes after opening the scoring in the ninth minute before adding two quick goals in the 35th and 37th minutes.

Oscar Arribas made it 4-0 just before halftime to give the Southern Tigers a commanding lead going into the break.

The second half was no different, with Manuel Hidalgo getting on the scoresheet in the 56th minute, followed by an own goal from Brunei’s Yura Indera in the 63rd.

Five minutes later, Arif Aiman Hanapi added the seventh before Bergson bagged his fourth goal of the night in the 73rd minute to make it 8-0.

Substitutes Jairo and Romel Morales then wrapped up the emphatic win with goals in the 81st and 88th minutes, respectively, sealing JDT’s biggest victory of the season.

The defending champions continue to dominate the Super League with 24 points after eight matches, while Brunei sit 10th with just four points.
