PETALING JAYA: Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT) chief executive officer (CEO) Luis Garcia has expressed disappointment over the technical error in the document submission process by the Football Association of Malaysia (FAM).

In a statement issued by the club on Tuesday (Sept 30), the Spaniard said the error has led to the suspension of the three mixed heritage players - Joao Figueiredo, Jon Irazabal and Hector Hevel - who play for the club.

"We hope the matter is resolved as soon as possible and the players are able to represent JDT in due course," said Garcia in the statement.

The club are set to play Japanese club Machida Zelvia in the AFC Champions League (ACL) Elite at the Sultan Ibrahim Stadium in Iskandar Puteri on Tuesday (Sept 30) night.

On Friday, FIFA fined FAM and suspended Facundo Garces, Jon Irazabal, Rodrigo Holgado, Imanol Machuca, Hector Hevel, Joao Figueiredo and Gabriel Palmero from competing for one year following documentation issues during Malaysia’s match against Vietnam in the Asian Cup Qualifiers last June.
