Palmero goes private after FIFA ban

Gabriel Palmero

PETALING JAYA: Harimau Malaya player Gabriel Palmero has gone private on social media.

Since news dropped Palmero and six other naturalised Malaysians were slapped with a 12-month ban from FIFA due to falsified documents on Friday (Sept 26), the Spaniard has made his Instagram account private.

The 23-year-old defender was also suspended by his club, Unionistas de Salamanca CF on Saturday (Sept 27).

Although the other six players’ Instagram accounts remain public, their comment sections have been limited.

The change in their comments sections comes after an influx of Indonesian football fans flocked to social media to share their disapproval of Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT) owner and Johor Regent, Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim.

Tunku Ismail had hinted that Indonesia were behind FIFA’s punishment for FAM.
