Police secure first Super League win with 3-1 victory over Kelantan


PETALING JAYA: Police claimed their first Super League win of the season after defeating Kelantan 3-1 at the Selayang Stadium on Saturday (Sept 20).

The hosts took the lead through Ivorian striker Henri Doumbia in the 27th minute, who then doubled their advantage in the 40th minute.

Kelantan pulled one back when Nigerian forward Ifedayo Olusegun converted a penalty in first half added time.

In the second half, Police’s Mohd Imran Samso, who joined the squad last year from Kelantan, scored against his former side in the 55th minute to make it three for the Cops.

Police secured their first three points of the season and moved up to fifth place in the table, level on points with Selangor in fourth.

Kelantan, meanwhile, are seventh with five points, equal with Negri Sembilan in sixth.
