Terengganu led by Costa win big against Brunei


PETALING JAYA: Terengganu thrashed Brunei 5-0 in the Super League match to silence the crowd at the Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah Stadium in Bandar Seri Begawan.

Brazilian playmaker Rainderson Da Costa was the star of the game with two goals, the first just 12 seconds into the game and the second in the 74th minute.

Midfielder Nurillo Tukhtasinov of Uzbekistan, known for his magical left foot, unleashed a superb shot from 20m in the 16th minute.

French striker Yan Mabella scored the fourth in the 86th minute, and local striker Syahmi Zamri completed the rout by scoring in the 92nd minute.

With the win, the east coast side moved to the top of the table with seven points from three games, while Brunei dropped to 12th with just a point from three matches.
