PETALING JAYA: Malaysia will play Cape Verde in two international friendly matches as part of their preparations for the AFC Asian Cup qualifiers.
The Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) confirmed on Friday (May 9) that the Harimau Malaya squad led by Australian Peter Cklamovski will face the world No. 72 side on May 29 at the Cheras Football Stadium and on June 3 at the National Stadium in Bukit Jalil.
The game in Cheras will be open to the public, while the game in Bukit Jalil will be held behind closed doors.
The "warm-up" games are timely for world No. 131 Malaysia as they get ready to face Vietnam in the second match of the 2027 Asian Cup third-round qualifiers at the National Stadium on June 10.
On March 25, Harimau Malaya began their Group F campaign by recording a 2-0 victory over Nepal at the Sultan Ibrahim Stadium in Iskandar Puteri, Johor, while Vietnam defeated Laos 5-0 at the Binh Duong Stadium.
