JDT takes charge with 2-1 win over Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia Cup quarter-finals


PETALING JAYA: Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT) have the upper hand against Kuala Lumpur after winning 2-1 in their Malaysia Cup quarter-finals first leg fixture on Friday (Dec 13).

JDT’s Bergson Da Silva was first to find the back of the net in the 33rd minute at the Cheras Stadium in Cheras.

In the second half, the Southern Tigers extended their lead when Hebert Fernandes scored in the 79th minute.

The City Boys managed to get one for themselves in the dying minutes through Brendan Gan in the 89th minute.

JDT will host Kuala Lumpur for the second fixture at the Sultan Ibrahim Stadium on Dec 21.

Meanwhile, Pahang won 1-0 against Perak in their first-leg quarter-finals fixture and will play the second game on Dec 22.
