Perak win again due to team’s fighting spirit, says captain Luc

PETALING JAYA: Three wins on the trot are music to the ears for Perak midfielder and captain Luciano Guaycochea (pic) as they have finally hit form in the Super League.

After taking down Negri Sembilan (1-0, Away) on Sept 14 and Kuala Lumpur (1-0, Home) on Sept 21, the Seladang humbled Pahang 3-0 in the league at the Temerloh Stadium on Saturday.

The Argentinian was the toast with two goals in the 43rd and 48th minute before playmaker Firdaus Saiyadi (61st) added one goal for the away side.

Many Perak fans are waxing lyrical over the team’s performance and coach Yusri Che Lah’s tactics but Guaycochea said there is one element that gets them going and ensure they get results at the end of the day.

“The game was amazing. We scored three goals but we fought as a team. Everyone ran and showed their talent. This is the way. First half we controlled the game. This was one of our best games this season,” said the 32-year-old.

“I’m happy for the two goals. The most important is giving the best and winning games.”

Perak are now fourth in the league with 15 points from 10 games.

Guaycochea said it has been immense captaining Perak, saying that he does not need to say much because of the emblem they play for.

“Everyone understands that they play for Perak. A lot of people backing the team. Everyone understands what is needed inside the field.

“We have young and senior players. We have a good environment right now. We just have to work hard every training and be together on the field.”
