Habib, one of Kedah’s jewels, has left the building

PETALING JAYA: Kedah won’t have the services of one of their midfield lynchpins, Bahraini midfielder Habib Haroon (pic), any more.

The 23-year-old has returned to his country to play for Sitra in the Bahraini Premier League.

The former Al-Riffa and Al-Khaldiya player confirmed his exit from Kedah on his Instagram page with the post: “I am moving and on the flight.”

He also reshared some of the posts from fans bidding farewell to him after just half a season with the Canaries.

At Sitra, Haroon will be playing alongside another former Kedah player, Moses Atede.

Haroon’s departure is a big loss for Kedah as he is the club’s top defensive midfielder.

He has also formed a strong partnership with Amirul Hisyam Awang Kechik and Hasbullah Abu Bakar.

Kedah are currently eighth in the league with eight points.
