Emotional Faisal says he came close to quitting football

PETALING JAYA: National footballer Faisal Halim was emotional in his first public appearance after a shocking acid attack on him last month.

Unable to hold back his emotions during the press conference, Faisal said his strength came from his family.

“At first, I considered going back to my hometown and leaving football behind," said Faisal.

“I don’t mind leaving my salary of tens of thousands, as long as my family and I are safe.

“But the team ensured me that my family will be taken care of, that made me determined to recover and get back on the pitch,” he said.
