Football star Faisal suffers acid attack

PETALING JAYA: It is not a good week for the national football team wingers.

National winger Faisal Halim, who is also known as Mickey, suffered an acid attack just hours ago on Sunday (May 5) at a shopping mall in Damansar.

Just days ago, his Harimau Malaya teammate Akhyar Rashid was robbed in Kuala Terengganu last week and suffered cuts and bruises.

A source close to Faisal confirmed the incident.

"Yes the incident happened just now. We are not sure where the place was but we know he was attacked by some men, who poured acid on him.

"We are on the way to check on him," said the source.

The reason behind the attack is also uncertain.

Images of his injury are going viral on social media and many netizens are in shock that such an incident happened to a national football player.
