Centreback Rudovic is new addition to City Boys’ roster

PETALING JAYA: Kuala Lumpur are filling up their squad with new names as they welcomed another newcomer in centreback Adrijan Rudovic (pic).

The 28-year-old player from Montenegro is expected to fill the void left behind by Croatian central defender Matko Zirdum for this season’s Super League starting in May.

Zirdum left the club after spending a season there.

Having spent most of his professional career in Montenegro with Otrant-Olympic, KF Terbuni, and Sutjeska Niksic, Rudovic has also played a short stint with Greek side Panserraikos in 2018.

Rudovic’s move to Kuala Lumpur is the latest in a line of transfers for the City Boys after they recently brought in seasoned national player Brendan Gan into the line-up, alongside S. Sharvin, J. Partiban, and keeper Hafizul Hakim.

Head coach Miroslav Kuljanac will now have a good selection of players to choose from his locker room in a bid to shine bright in the league.

After Kuala Lumpur started their pre-season by beating Melaka 3-0 last week, Kuljanac had said the squad needed a midfielder and centreback to complete the team before the Super League season kicks off in May.

Kuljanac has gotten what he wanted with the arrival of Rudovic together with the signing of centreback Nicholas Swirad.

The arrival of new faces in Kuala Lumpur have also come at a right time, after the team settled their salary arrears recently.
