Veteran winger Hadin hopes to inspire Deer to new heights

PETALING JAYA: Negri Sembilan have injected some much needed experience into their young squad with the signing of veteran winger Hadin Azman from Penang.

The 29-year-old’s signing was a surprise, as many had expected him to join Police but he said he was impressed with Negri chief executive officer (CEO) Faliq Firdaus’ vision which convinced him to opt for the Deer.

Hadin, who has won nine caps with Malaysia, is a well-travelled player in the Super League as he has played for sides like Felda United, Kedah, Kuala Lumpur and Penang last season.

“The CEO told me his mission and vision for the club, and I wanted to be a part of it. I want to contribute something and be like a guiding light for the young players,” he said.

“But at the same time, I want to improve my performances too. I look to score as many goals as possible and help the club finish in a better spot than last season.

“We may be the underdogs but we will do our best to show what Negri are capable of. We want to create some surprises.”

Hadin is expected to be an inspiration to youngsters like A. Selvan and N. Javaabilarivin, who are set to play bigger roles in the team this season.

Hadin, who scored four goals and provided three assists in 21 matches for Penang last season, can double up as a playmaker and striker.

Faliq said he has been watching Hadin since he was 19.

“He’s a big talent and I hope he can find his touch with us,’’ he said.

Besides Hadin, Negri also announced the loan signing of Myanmar international winger Hein Htet Aung from Selangor.
