JDT scores away win at Thailand's Pathum United in AFC Champions League

PETALING JAYA: Johor Darul Ta'zim (JDT) continued their fiery form when they downed BG Pathum United 4-2 in their AFC Champions League match in Pathum Thani on Tuesday (Oct 3).

Young winger Arif Aiman Hanapi struck twice in the sixth and 78th minutes while goals from their leading striker Bergson Da Silva (14th) and midfielder Juan Muniz (53rd) gave the Southern Tigers a commanding win in Group I.

Home side Pathum started strongly with a fifth-minute goal from Victor Cardozo through a penalty but JDT's victory was never in doubt after they had raced to a 4-1 lead.

Cardozo scored again in the 78th minute but it did not matter as JDT had rebounded well from a 0-1 defeat to Kawasaki Frontale in their opening group match in Iskandar Puteri on Sept 19.

Kawasaki secured their second victory by beating Ulsan Hyundai 1-0 in their home match in Kawasaki.
