KUALA TERENGGANU: Sweden-born midfielder Omid Nazari is Terengganu’s final foreign signing this season, with the 31-year-old inking a one-year contract.
Terengganu Football Club Sdn Bhd (TFCSB) chief executive officer Ab Rasid Jusoh said they have signed up Nazari, who also holds Filipino citizenship, to fill their Asean player quota and help them navigate this season’s challenges in the M-League and Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Cup.
“Nazari has vast footballing experience, having played in Europe’s Champions League competition with (Sweden’s) Malmo FF.
“He has also made five appearances with Iran’s national team. In South-east Asia, he used to play for Persib Bandung in Indonesia from 2019 to 2021,” he said in a statement, adding that Nazari also featured for Negri Sembilan last season. — Bernama
