(Reuters) - Ireland international Matt Doherty has joined Atletico Madrid from Tottenham Hotspur on a deal until the end of the season, the Spanish club said on Tuesday.

The 31-year-old right back arrives after coming to a mutual agreement with Spurs to terminate his contract.

Doherty joined Spurs from Wolverhampton Wanderers in August 2020 and made 71 appearances, scoring three goals in all competitions.

Atletico Madrid also signed Dutch striker Memphis Depay in the January transfer window.
