Al-Seeb win first AFC Cup title after defeating KL

PETALING JAYA: Kuala Lumpur’s fairytale run in the AFC Cup ended in sorrow after they were humbled by Al-Seeb 0-3 in the final at the National Stadium in Bukit Jalil.

The Omani club were calm and composed and relied on smart tactical plays to score goals against the City Boys.

Al-Seeb took a 2-0 lead in the first-half through Eid Mohamed Al-Farsi (21st minute) and Salaah Said Al-Yahyaei (36th).

They killed off the game in the second-half when Muhsen Saleh Al-Ghassani scored in the 68th minute.

It was Al-Seeb’s first AFC Cup title, while Kuala Lumpur can be proud of being a finalist in their first AFC Cup outing.
