HANOI: Malaysia's Under-23 football team ended their Group B campaign at the Vietnam SEA Games with a 2-2 draw against Cambodia at the Thien Truong Stadium in Nam Dinh on Monday (May 16).

Cambodia drew first blood when Choun Chanchav scored from the penalty spot at the end of the first half.

In the second half, Malaysia equalised through Hadi Fayyadh Abdul Razak, who also buried his shot from the penalty spot in the 51st minute.

Nine minutes later, Cambodia took the lead again through Ky Rina.

Hadi then got his second in the 67th minute. Malaysia looked for a winner but were not clinical upfront and ended the group with eight points.

Thailand will take on Laos at 8pm (Malaysian Time). If Thailand wins the game, they will top the group with nine points and face Indonesia in the semi-finals.

As for Malaysia, if they finish second, they will face host nation Vietnam in the other semi-finals.
