Tuck to be a Turtle again after slow start with the Elephants

KUALA LUMPUR: After failing to make an impact in Pahang’s lacklustre start in the Super League, import player Lee Tuck (pic) will return to wear his old Terengganu jersey until the end of the competition this season.

The transfer ended speculation about the fate of the 32-year-old with the Elephants after several changes were made in the squad coached by Dollah Salleh to beef up their performance in the remaining Super League matches.

“Pahang have confirmed that they have reached an agreement to loan the former Terengganu captain to his old team until the end of the 2021 season, ” said a statement from Pahang.

“He’s loaned to Terengganu during the second transfer window (May 3-30) and will return to Pahang next season.”

Tuck joined Pahang earlier this season after his contract with Terengganu which ended at the end of last year was not renewed.

He previously spent three seasons with the Turtles and scored more than 20 goals which helped the team emerge runners-up in the 2018 Malaysia Cup, besides helping them secure a slot to the Asian Football Confederation Cup this season.

Tuck’s presence will give more options to coach Nafuzi Zain in the team’s attacking machinery in challenging for the Super League title and in the Malaysia Cup campaign scheduled to start next August.

Terengganu are now second in the Super League with 27 points, three points behind leaders Johor Darul Ta’zim while Pahang are in ninth place after collecting just 12 points. — Bernama
