FAM give ultimatum to errant teams

The Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) status committee has warned six teams – Felda United, Terengganu City, Hanelang, Police, Perlis and Kuantan – in the Malaysian League to settle salaries worth RM1.97mil to 28 players and officials.

The errant teams have to pay what they owe the players and officials within the next 30 days or risk further action.

Felda United, who have been saddled with debts for months, are the worst of the lot as they owe RM1.33mil to six players, including Mohd Hadin Azman, who is still with the club.

They owe former skipper Mohd Shukor Adan, who now plays for Melaka, the biggest amount – RM390,682, followed by Wan Zack Wan Haikal Noor (RM278,223.60), Ahmad Syamim Yahya (RM259,591.20), Hadin (RM193,000), Mohd Farizal Harun (RM167,491.40) and Muhammad Azreen Zulkafali (RM38,930.70).

Terengganu City have to settle arrears worth RM239,000 to 10 players and one coach while another Terengganu-based side Hanelang owe four former staff and a player – Reeshafiq Alwi RM224,000.

Premier League club Police owe three of their officials, including former national striker Khalid Jamlus RM90,000 while Perlis have to pay RM52,000 to two former players Famirul Asraf Sayuti and Mohd Alafi Mahmud RM52,000. Kuantan, who left the league halfway last season, have to pay their former staff RM39,600.
