JDT launches new jerseys for 2019 season

JOHOR BARU:  Five times Malaysian Super League champions Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT) has launched its new football kit for the 2019 season.

Club president Tunku Tun Aminah Binti Sultan Ibrahim unveiled the kit, supplied by American giant sportswear Nike at Dataran Bandaraya here on Saturday night (Jan 12).

This is the third year in a row that the Southern Tigers, who will make their debut in this season’s Asian Champions League (ACL), would wear the football kit designed by Nike.

The sponsorship covers not only JDT and JDT IV players, but also includes its academy players as well.

There would be two variation for this season’s JDT jersey, where for the “home” jersey it would be a red and blue stripe while for the “away” kit, it is a purple coloured jersey with black shorts.

According to Johor Southern Tigers, the kit is specially designed and ordered from the Nike headquarters in the United States.

It added that the designers of the new jerseys were also same team of designers that designed famous football jerseys, including Barcelona, Paris Saint Germain and the Brazilian national team.
