Kelantan coach Sathit sacked following team’s poor show

KOTA BARU: Kelantan Football Association (Kafa) have given Thailand coach Sathit Bensoh the boot following the state football team’s poor performance.

His stint as the head coach lasted only just over than two months.

He joined Kelantan as an assistant coach in December 2016 before he was appointed as the head coach on Dec 7 last year.

Before the stint with Malaysia, Sathit was with Bangkok Glass, Hatyai, Pattani, Trang, and Satun United teams in Thailand.

Kafa secretary-general Hussin Deraman said they had fired the head coach of the Red Warriors with immediate effect yesterday.

“Kafa is not satisfied with the team’s performance under Sathit.

“We have made the decision after evaluating the team’s performance from friendly matches to the Super League matches,” he said.

Kelantan have only collected one point after playing three matches in the Super League so far, recording the team’s worst performance in a decade.

Assistant coach Yusri Che Lah would fill the gap left by Sathit temporarily.
