MISC-MIFA retain Tun Sharifah Rodziah Cup


Malaysian Indian Sports Council-Malaysian Indian Football Association (MISC-MIFA) retained the Tun Sharifah Rodziah Cup after edging bitter rivals Sabah 3-2 in the final at the Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM) in Sintok, Kedah.

PETALING JAYA: The Malaysian Indian Sports Council-Malaysian Indian Football Association (MISC-MIFA) have retained the Tun Sharifah Rodziah Cup.

They edged bitter rivals Sabah 3-2 in the final at the Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM) in Sintok, Kedah, on Saturday.

The defending champions got off to a perfect start when Sihaya Ajad (eighth minute) and Haindee Mosroh (13th) put them 2-0 ahead.

But Sabah hit back to draw level with goals from Shereilynn Elly Pius (15th) and Jaciah Jumilis (29th).

Winger Dadree Rofinus ended up as the heroine for MISC-MIFA when she netted the winner in the 76th minute.

MISC-MIFA picked up RM20,000 while runners-up Sabah took home RM10,000.

MISC-MIFA also made a clean sweep of the individual awards, with Dadree winning the best player of the final and Haindee capturing the top scorer’s award with 14 goals.

In the third placing match, Kedah edged Sarawak 1-0 thanks to Nurul Ashikin Mohd Jasrie’s 65th-minute goal. Kedah pocketed RM5,000.
