(Reuters) - Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal has moved to calm fears that captain Wayne Rooney is set for a spell on the sidelines after the striker limped out of Saturday's 1-1 Premier League draw with Leicester City.

Rooney, who has scored just twice in 12 league appearances, had little impact on the game and was substituted in the 68th minute.
