PETALING JAYA: Kuala Lumpur FA (KLFA) will have an internal meeting before making an appeal to the FA of Malaysia (FAM) on the compensation for want-away striker Ahmad Hazwan Bakri.
KLFA have claimed the Selangor FA have signed Hazwan behind their backs in October and are also not happy with the RM25,000 compensation.
The KLFA, who had planned to loan out the 22-year-old player to their affiliate Sime Darby FC, have demanded RM200,000 from Selangor.
On Friday, FAM’s players’ status committee chairman Datuk Takiyuddin Hassan has ordered Selangor to pay RM34,000 as training fee to KLFA.
Takiyuddin said the committee follows a formula set by FIFA for such disputes.
KLFA general-secretary Nokman Mustaffa said the management committee will have a meeting before deciding whether to file an appeal.
“Although we are getting more than what Selangor had offered, we are not happy with how they approached our player,” said Nokman.
“I will submit FAM’s verdict to the management committee to decide our next course of action.”
The players’ status committee had also deemed former national player, Mohd Amirul Hadi Zainal’s contract with Pahang FA (PFA) as null and void.
Amirul caused a stir when he signed up for Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT) despite PFA’s claim that he had already signed a contract extension with the Malaysia Cup champions.
However, the 27-year-old player was slapped with a RM25,000 fine for failing to reveal the status of his contract and PFA are given three days to make an appeal.
“Amirul’s contract with JDT is valid but the team need to get the transfer certificate from PFA. Amirul was fined for not being clear with this contract status.”
