Pahang draw first blood in Malaysia Cup semis

PETALING JAYA: Pahang grabbed the early initiative in the Malaysia Cup semi-finals with a 3-1 win over Sarawak in the first leg at the Darul Makmur Stadium on Saturday night.

It was a deserving victory for The Elephants who got their goals from winger Mohd Azamuddin Akil’s brace (29th and 33rd minute) and Argentinian Matias Conti’s wonder goal in the 38th minute.

However, a deflected effort from Mohd Shahrol Saperi in the 40th minute kept Premier League champions Sarawak in contention for the return leg which takes place on Oct 26 at the State Stadium in Kuching.
