PETALING JAYA: Pandelela Rinong failed in her bid to reach the women’s 10m platform final at the Diving World Cup in Guadalajara, Mexico.
In the preliminary round on Thursday, Pandelela finished 13th with a total score of 267.85 points, thus missing out on a spot among the top 12 divers to advance to the final scheduled for tomorrow.
It was Pandelela’s first appearance since her last competitive outing at the 2024 Malaysia Open in November.
Spanish diver Valeria Antolino secured the 12th and final qualifying spot with a score of 275.15 points.
China’s reigning Olympic champion Quan Hongchan topped the preliminary event with 390.40 points.
National teammate Chen Yuxi secured second spot with 373.65 points.
The World Aquatics Diving World Cup features two stops including Windsor, Canada from April 10 to 13 and then it will be followed by the super final stage scheduled in Beijing, China from May 2 to 4.
