Diving darling Dhabitah reaches final in Paris

PETALING JAYA: Last minute inclusion Nur Dhabitah Sabri has booked her spot in the women’s 3m springboard final as she finished eighth out of 18 divers.

Dhabitah scored 286.95 points to qualify for the final at the Paris Olympics Aquatics Centre on Thursday (August 8).

The 25-year-old, who received a wild card just weeks before the Games, started strong with her first two dives, but slight imperfections in the third and fourth dives saw her sit in 10th after four rounds.

With only the top 12 divers making the cut for the final, Dhabitah bounced back in the last dive with a score of 60.45 to book her spot in the final day action on Friday (Aug 9).

China’s Chen Yiwen finished on top with 360.85 points, while Australia’s Maddison Keeney was close behind in second with 334.70. Chiara Pellacani from Italy came in third with 324.75.
