Cricket-India 419-6 at lunch after fifties by Pant, Jurel


COLOMBO, Aug ⁠24 (Reuters) - Rishabh Pant and ⁠Dhruv Jurel struck unbeaten fifties ‌to push India to 419-6 at lunch on day two of the ​second and final ⁠test against Sri ⁠Lanka in Colombo on Monday.

• ⁠Pant, who ‌had retired hurt on Sunday, came ⁠out to bat after the fall ​of ‌debutant Saransh Jain. Pant's ⁠63 not ​out included six fours and two sixes.

• Asitha Fernando (4-60) ⁠dismissed Jain (six), who was ​caught at slip.

• Jurel combined with Pant in a 112-run stand ⁠for the unbroken seventh wicket to pad India's score. Jurel hit five fours in ​his 59 ⁠not out.

• India are 1-0 ​ahead in the ‌two-test series.
