Adania proud of herself despite losing in q-finals

PETALING JAYA: National junior bowler Adania Mohd Redzwan finished sixth in the IBF Youth World Cup after losing to Karen Nielsen of Denmark in the quarter-finals on Saturday.

Though she narrowly missed out on a podium finish after losing 202-230, 214-230 to the Dane at Helsingborg, Sweden, Adania took the experience in her stride.

“I’m proud to have made it this far on the world level. But of course, I was aiming for a podium finish. It was challenging, but overall, it was a great experience. I’ve learnt a lot, and there’s still a lot to improve on my game,” said Adania.

She also noted how the tournament gave her a clearer picture of where she stood among the world’s best.

“This performance gave me a better picture of where I’m at. I’d say it’s a good step forward but I’m not satisfied yet. I want to keep growing and keep pushing myself to deliver solid performances no matter the conditions.”

She will now focus on refining both her physical and mental game.

“I’ve learned that being mentally strong is also important, and being able to adapt quickly to lane transitions is key. I need to sharpen my game even more, both physically and mentally.”

Meanwhile, in the boys’ division, Mohd Danial Abu Samah missed out on the top eight finish by just 12 pins.
