Former national bowling queen Shalin Zulkifli conferred Datukship


PETALING JAYA: Former national bowling queen Shalin Zulkifli has been conferred with a Datukship on Wednesday (Feb 1).

Shalin was awarded the Panglima Mahkota Wilayah which carries the Datuk title by the Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah.

The 44-year-old was recognised for her outstanding contributions to the sport, including capturing two golds in the team event of the World Championships, four golds in the Asian Games, 20 golds in the SEA Games and more.

Shalin won the Malaysian Sportswoman award five times (1994, 1996, 1997, 2001 and 2002), International Bowler of the Year award in 2002 and was inducted in the International Bowling Hall of Fame in 2004.
