Selangor shoot to super Sukma start with basketball double

BUKIT TINGGI: Selangor got their Malaysia Games (Sukma) campaign off to a rolling start after they retained both the boys’ and girls’ 3x3 basketball titles on Thursday (Aug 13).

Sukma will officially begin on Saturday (Aug) 15 with the opening ceremony in Shah Alam but Selangor have taken a fine lead ahead. 

The boys’ team of Yap Zen Haw, Yap Jin Xi, Tan Yu Xiang defended Selangor’s gold medal after they beat Federal Territories 21-13 at the Bukit Tinggi Basketball Hall.

Earlier, the girls’ team, composed of Yap Yi Xin, Erica Ng, Emily Ang, and Elaine Chong delivered a dominant performance to beat Federal Territories 21-4.

Both bronze medals went to Negri Sembilan as the boys’ team beat Johor 21-19, while the girls’ squad won 16-12 against Johor as well.
